About this book

In Allah Loves… Omar Suleiman explores who and what Allah loves so that we may become one of those who are beloved to Him. The Prophet Muhammad said that one of the supplications of Prophet Dawud was, “O Allah I ask You for Your love and the love of those that love You and all of those actions that would bring me closer to being loved by you.” Looking at our actions, characteristics and beliefs, this book will help us become better people, citizens and believers that are deserving of Allah's endless, infinite and ever-lasting love. Made up of 30 short and spiritually enriching chapters, this book is a reminder that throughout our lives, the Creator's love is always there, increasing through everyday actions such as showing generosity or remaining consistent with unnoticeable good deeds.

Frequently asked questions

What is “Allah Loves” about?
“Allah Loves” is a heartfelt book that explores the qualities and actions that Allah (God) loves for His servants to have. Each chapter of the book focuses on one characteristic (for example: “Allah loves those who are repentant,” “Allah loves those who do good,” etc.), explaining what it means and how we can incorporate it into our lives. The idea is to guide readers in becoming people who attain Allah’s love and pleasure.
Who is the author of “Allah Loves”?
The book is written by Shaykh Omar Suleiman, a popular contemporary Islamic scholar and speaker. Shaykh Omar is known for his approachable teaching style, and in this book, he distills teachings from the Qur’an and Hadith about Allah’s love into practical lessons for everyday Muslims.
Can you give examples of some qualities discussed in “Allah Loves”?
Some examples of qualities and behaviors discussed include: tawbah (repentance) – as in “Allah loves those who repent often”; ihsan (excellence in doing good); taharah (purity/cleanliness) – which can be both physical and spiritual; patience; and justice. For each quality, the book explains why it’s beloved to Allah, often mentioning the specific Qur’anic verse or Hadith that states “Allah loves X,” and then gives real-life examples of how a person can embody that trait.
Is “Allah Loves” an easy read?
Yes, absolutely. The chapters are relatively short and written in very clear, simple language. You don’t need any advanced background in Islamic studies to understand it. Shaykh Omar often uses anecdotes or relatable scenarios to illustrate points, making it engaging. You could read a chapter in one sitting quite comfortably (many people even use it as a daily devotional, reading one chapter per day).
How can this book impact a reader’s life?
This book can be quite transformational for a reader’s heart. By highlighting each trait that Allah loves, it naturally encourages you to self-reflect: “Do I have this quality? If not, how can I develop it?” It’s motivational because it shifts the focus from just worrying about what is sinful or not, to proactively earning Allah’s love by doing good. It’s very hope-filled in tone. Many readers find that it rejuvenates their intention to practice Islam not out of fear alone, but out of love and the desire to be loved by Allah. It’s a great reminder that our faith is a positive journey of character-building.
